Entrance located in the back alley — ring the doorbell when you arrive and we’ll greet you and walk you through the space.

In the Main Street area bordering Mt. Pleasant, South Flats, and Emily Carr — steps from Ucoo Rentals and Olympic Village, and a short walk from Kranky Café, Red Truck Brewing, Tractor Foods, The Vancouver Soup Company, and Nemesis Coffee.

Parking — The studio does not have dedicated parking – metered street parking is available on the surrounding streets, plus a temporary loading zone at our entrance for load-in/out.

Studio policies.

The short version of everything to know before you book.

— Studio Rules

Arrival: Guests arriving more than 30 minutes late will lose their booking time without refund.
Overage: Guests have a 10-minute grace period after their booking ends to finish cleaning up, return the studio to its original condition, and pack up. After the grace period, an overage fee of $50 per 30 minutes will apply for time used without an approved extension.
Occupancy limit: Maximum of 15 guests at any time.
No cooking in the studio.
No smoking or vaping anywhere on the premises.
No fog or smoke machines without prior approval. Contact info@subjectstudio.co if your production requires this.
No excessive noise.
No decorations that damage the space. Nothing that marks, stains, or leaves residue on walls, floors, equipment, or props.
Leave it as you found it — all props and furniture returned to their original places, all food waste removed.
Liability & damages: Guests are responsible for any damage to the studio, props, or equipment beyond normal wear and tear, and may be charged for repair or replacement.

— Studio Guidelines

Setup and teardown: Please include all set up and tear down time within your booked hours— please be packed up and ready to leave by the end of your session.
Extensions: Need more time? We require at least 1 hour’s notice to extend a booking.
Footwear: Our floors are white and scuff easily — please wear non-marking shoes when possible. Shoe covers are available if your footwear may mark the floors.
Access: The studio is down 5 steps — plan your load-in accordingly. Vehicles can pull up to the alley door for loading/unloading.
Parking: The studio does not have dedicated parking. Metered street parking is available on surrounding streets, plus a temporary loading zone at our entrance for load-in/out.
Food & drink: Welcome — just remove all food waste before you leave.
Studio prep fee: A $30 studio prep fee is included in the rental price.
Backdrops & lighting: Not included in your booking. Add these as rentals through the add-ons at checkout.

Cancellations

Free cancellation within 24 hours of booking.
Free cancellation for bookings cancelled more than 2 weeks from the shoot date.
Within 2 weeks of your shoot: 50% refund.
Within 48 hours of your booking: not eligible for a refund.

Rescheduling

14+ days out: one free reschedule to a new available date — new bookings must be made within 60 days of your original date.
Within 14 days (more than 48 hours out): subject to availability, $25 rescheduling fee.
Within 48 hours: treated as a cancellation rather than a reschedule.
